Pastor Dan Tabor
Pastor
Pastor Dan Tabor, joined by his wife, Gelene, began as the pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church on November 15, 2020.
Born in St. Paul, MN, his family relocated to Wisconsin and he graduated from Suring High School, in Suring, WI.
Prior to formally entering the ministry, served in the U. S Army as a military police officer, as a police officer for 17 years in Minnesota, and in the Army Reserve as a Military Intelligence officer.
He received a Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Administration from Northwestern University, St. Paul, MN; a Masters of Arts in Management from Doane College, Crete, NE; and a Masters of Divinity from St. Paul Lutheran Seminary.
Pastor Dan and Gelene like to hike, fish and camp. They have 5 children and 12 grandchildren. Three of the children still live in the Twin Cities, while two live in the Washington DC area.
Barb Kleven
Associate Pastor
Barb became the associate pastor in February 2023, with responsibility for keeping in touch with and caring for the Trinity family.
Born and raised in Eau Claire, Barb graduated from North High School and married her husband, Rolf, in 1969. She stayed at home raising 3 children, Wendy, John, and Joel. Rolf and Barb have 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
Barb received a Bachelor of Music Education degree from UWEC. She graduated from Beyond the River Academy and received a Certificate of Pastoral ministry in 2018 to help as a supply pastor for churches in Minong and Exeland. Barb and her husband, Rolf joined Trinity Lutheran in 2009, where she has sung in the church choir, taught confirmation, served on the church council, and helped with VBS.
In February 2020 she became the interim pastor at Trinity Lutheran until Pastor Dan became the pastor in November 2020.
Pastor Barb and Rolf love being with family and friends, spending time at their lake home fishing, boating, and golf.
Julie Sunderland
Parish Administrator
Julie began working at Trinity in July, 2019. She and her husband, Kevin, have two children Wyatt & Shay.
Originally from Solon Springs, WI, she attended WITC Superior where she received her degree in Business Administration and Marketing. She and her husband moved to the Birchwood are in 2008.
Julie enjoys: Animals, reading, miscellaneous crafts, family events,cooking and camping.
Joanne Schilling
Choir Director
Joanne originally hailed from WI, and has sung “forever” in church, school choirs, and community theatres. After 20 years practicing public relations in the Marine Corps, she retired to Colorado where she returned to college to earn a degree in vocal performance, and opened a private voice studio for five years. The desire to “grow old” with her twin sister moved her to return to Wisconsin in 2005.
She became the Trinity choir director in 2012, and thinks it’s the best “job” ever!
